17th - 18th September 2016 (Children)
20th - 24th September 2016 (Adults)
Teatro Maria Matos, Lisbon, Portugal
Worktable is a live installation, open to visitors continuously for several hours and days. It takes place in a series of rooms – you must sign in to enter, and can stay as long as you like. Once inside you are given instructions, equipment and safety goggles so you can get to work – it’s up to you to decide how things come apart, and how they come back together again. Sign in and get to work.
For the children, we have a special worktable. In it, we invite you to break apart objects that you can find in your daily life but that today will be at your disposal, prepared to be dismantled by you. But it doesn’t end there, you have to listen to the instructions and bring them back to life, in a new way.
Concept and realization: Kate McIntosh
Worktable was commissioned in the frame of the event Performance Is a Dirty Work funded by Roehampton University
